The client
Morgan Hunt is working with a leading charity whose aim is to provide high quality support services to women, men, and families affected by domestic abuse, homelessness, and young parents across Northwest England. Their aim is to improve safety and life opportunities for those who use services, while supporting them on their journey to recovery.
They work closely with individuals to help them overcome their experiences, empowering them to develop the skills and resources needed to take control of their lives. This includes accessing and maintaining their own tenancy and achieving long term positive outcomes and providing the information and guidance need to make positive, informed choices about their future.
We are currently recruiting for Safe Accommodation Team Leader to work across a 24 - hour refuge and dispersed refuge accommodation across Cheshire West and Chester. This is a permanent role, working 32 hours per week with some flexibility over how the hours can be worked.
The role
As a Safe Accommodation Team Leader, you will be responsible for;
- Preparing accurate monthly reports for the Operations Manager, including data analysis and evaluations.
- Providing supervision, case management, case quality audits and database oversight and deputising for other Team Leaders in their absence.
- Assessing risks related to service delivery and service users, creating and regularly reviewing risk management plans to address identified issues.
- Promoting the service as a key partner within multi - agency working, ensuring strong recognition in local partnerships.
- Representing and engaging the service in local meetings and forums, such as MARAC, domestic abuse forums, VAWG groups, and homelessness networks.
- Responding to safeguarding concerns in line with organisational and local authority policies, ensuring appropriate support for both service users and staff.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Domestic Abuse Act, housing law, legal orders, and child protection procedures.
- Ensuring accurate, secure, and compliant management of client records, including contact notes, correspondence, SMART plans, risk assessments, and outcomes.
- Encouraging active participation and involvement from those using the service.
- Providing support and supervision to volunteers and students.
- Monitoring, recording, and proactively managing risks, anti-social behaviour, and neighbour nuisance, responding in a trauma-informed way and following appropriate escalation procedures.
- Implementing agreements, issuing warnings and notices when required, and working with the Operations Manager to end support where necessary.
- Ensuring all relevant benefits are claimed correctly, and that Housing Benefit and personal contributions are collected from individuals accessing accommodation services.
The candidate
Essential;
- Experience of supporting women, men and children who have been subject to domestic violence and abuse and/or sexual violence and abuse/stalking.
- Experience of multi-agency and partnership working (e.g., MARAC).
- Experience of undertaking strengths, needs & risk assessments including DASH RIC.
- Experience of managing, supporting, supervising, motivating, and developing teams and individuals.
- Experience of person-centred, trauma-informed service delivery.
- Knowledge of best practices in relation to safeguarding, crisis accommodation, and community-based settings and MARAC.
- Strong skills around effective crisis resolution
Desirable;
- Experience of enabling client involvement.
- Experience of working within a supported accommodation service, dispersed provision and/or engaging individuals who are experiencing insecure housing.
- Knowledge of the impact of SVA/DVA/Stalking etc. on individuals and communities (including BAMER, children, isolated, LGBTQ, elder, rural etc.).
- Knowledge of welfare benefits including no recourse to public funds.
