SEND Teaching Assistant: London Borough of Kingston upon Thames

We are looking for SEND Teaching Assistants in the London Borough of Kingston upon Thames to start immediately. You do not need previous experience in the role; just the approach and mindset to draw on your relevant skills and experience and make a difference for children with SEND.

What does the role involve?

Supporting children with a range of different needs in experiencing and enjoying the best education possible

Displaying immense empathy and emotional intelligence; to understand the specific challenges your students will face

Supporting students both one-to-one and in groups

Liaising with school colleagues, other relevant professionals and families to become the ultimate team player in delivering high educational outcomes

Being a champion of inclusion; putting student progress and wellbeing at the heart of everything you do

Playing a lead role in the delivery of individualised education plans

What skills and experiences would be useful in this role?

Experience of working as a SEND Teaching Assistant within schools is useful but not essential

Experience of working with vulnerable people in related settings; such as health & social care, NHS, youth work, charity sector, mental health or any other relevant environment

A degree in any subject is useful but not essential

Experience of supporting friends or family members with SEND; or through voluntary work

£500.00 - £550.00 per week pay; depending on experience level
