Job Title: Project Worker - Complex Needs
Location: Westminster
Contract: Temporary (Approx. 3 months)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, rota basis)
Shifts: Early (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and Late (1:00 PM - 9:00 PM), alternating weekly
Pay Rate: £15.29 per hour + £1.85 holiday pay (£17.14 total per hour)
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Project Worker - Complex Needs to join a 68-bed men's hostel in Westminster. The service provides 24/7 specialist support to individuals experiencing a range of complex needs, including substance use, mental health challenges, rough sleeping, and contact with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of up to 10 clients, delivering regular key working sessions and developing person-centred, trauma-informed Support Plans
- Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments
- Deliver sensitive and skilled support, including safety planning for clients with complex needs
- Respond effectively to referrals within agreed timescales
- Support residents in progressing through the service and accessing appropriate move-on accommodation
- Contribute to the delivery and development of the in-house recovery programme
- Assist residents in maximising benefit entitlements and managing finances, including rent payments and reducing arrears
- Support individuals facing benefit sanctions, suspensions, or those with no recourse to public funds (NRPF)
- Promote independent living skills, including budgeting and daily living tasks
- Ensure void rooms are prepared and re-let promptly
- Monitor and report maintenance issues within the service
- Participate in housing management duties, including room checks and health & safety procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience working with individuals affected by homelessness or insecure housing
- Proven experience in key working or case management, particularly with clients with complex needs
- Ability to develop high-quality, personalised support and safety plans
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and the impact of adversity
- Knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and its application
- Awareness of the multiple factors contributing to homelessness
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and engage individuals who may be reluctant to access support
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
