About the role

This position is for a Finance Manager within a well-established housing association based in Glasgow, offering the chance to play a key role in financial leadership, reporting, and strategic decision-making.

You'll work closely with the Director of Finance and wider leadership team, helping shape financial strategy while ensuring strong controls, accurate reporting, and a high-quality finance service across the organisation and its subsidiaries.

There's also a strong emphasis on:

  • Working closely with non-finance teams and helping them understand performance
  • Maintaining robust controls and governance in a regulated environment
  • Supporting ongoing improvements, particularly around systems and reporting

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys being hands-on but also wants to be part of the bigger picture, contributing to how the housing association plans and delivers its services for the future.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the delivery of monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
  • Support the annual business plan and long-term financial planning
  • Prepare and oversee statutory accounts and external audit processes
  • Manage treasury activities, loan accounts, and cash flow forecasting
  • Provide financial insight to senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory returns (SHR, OSCR, HMRC, FCA)
  • Oversee payroll, VAT, and financial controls across the organisation
  • Support and develop the finance team, ensuring a high-performing function

What we're looking for

Must haves:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA or similar)
  • Experience producing statutory accounts and leading on audit processes
  • Strong background in management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ability to present financial information clearly to senior stakeholders
  • Previous experience of managing or supervising finance staff

Nice to have:

  • Experience within housing or a regulated environment
  • Exposure to treasury, funding, or development finance
  • Experience implementing or improving finance systems, such as Homemaster, Rubixx or Brik

Why this role stands out

  • Leadership exposure - part of the wider leadership team influencing decisions
  • Varied role - combines reporting, planning, treasury, and strategy
  • Real impact - supporting services that directly affect communities
  • Strong benefits - including pension and flexible/hybrid working
