Overview
We are working with a well-established Further Education College seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning within their engineering/electrical department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on electrical experience who enjoys working in an educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and set up electrical equipment, tools, and materials for practical lessons
- Support lecturers and students during workshop sessions
- Ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and fit for purpose
- Carry out routine maintenance, fault-finding, and basic repairs on electrical systems and equipment
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records
- Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations at all times
- Assist in the development and improvement of workshop facilities
Requirements
- A relevant qualification
- Practical industry experience in electrical work or maintenance
- Good understanding of health & safety practices in a workshop environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential
