The client
Morgan Hunt is working with a substance misuse charity who are looking to recruit for a Thriving Families Worker based in Manchester. This is a temporary role initially for 2 months whilst the client completes their permanent recruitment process.
The role
As a Thriving Families Worker you will;
- Work with adults within families to understand substance misuse within the household and provide intensive support to families who are currently on Child Protection or Child in Need Plans.
- Carry out comprehensive service user and family assessments to develop individual recovery plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and improve relationships within the family.
- Conduct one to one support which will include formulating packages around resilience building, healthy coping mechanisms, and managing emotions to enable positive changes to family functioning.
- Conducting visits with families and recording information and interventions on the Children's Services case management system.
- To promote family members involvement to improve outcomes for children and recovery.
The candidate
- Experience of working with adults who use alcohol and drugs with a clear understanding of the need for, and ability to, deliver quality services.
- Working knowledge of substance misuse issues and the impacts on families.
- Multi - agency working experience to ensure best possible outcomes for service users
- Knowledge and experience of working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
As this is a temporary role, the client is looking for an immediate start in this role.
