Our public sector client is recruiting a Lead Cloud Engineer (contract) to take ownership of a mature, multi-cloud platform spanning primarily AWS (some GCP), driving the design, delivery and optimisation of secure, high-performing cloud infrastructure. You'll play a key role in shaping cloud architecture, improving self-service capabilities for engineering teams, and ensuring platforms are scalable, resilient and cost-effective.



This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll balance strategic thinking with technical delivery, working across architecture, automation, security and service reliability.



Alongside leading complex cloud solution design and migration initiatives, you'll mentor engineers, set engineering standards, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align technology with wider business goals.



The role suits someone who enjoys influencing technical direction, embedding best practice and building high-performing teams, with strong experience across AWS, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native design principles.
