About the Role:
A leading further education college in East London is seeking a Plumbing Assessor to support apprentices and adult learners across plumbing qualifications. You will assess competence in the workplace and on campus, guide learners through their standards, and uphold robust quality and compliance practices. This role sits within a collaborative construction and building services department committed to developing industry-ready talent and strong employer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver assessment for plumbing apprentices and adult learners in line with awarding body and apprenticeship standards.
- Conduct workplace assessments, observations, and professional discussions, evidencing knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
- Prepare learners for gateway and End-Point Assessment, setting clear targets and tracking progress.
- Use e-portfolio systems to gather, assess, and quality-check evidence to agreed timescales.
- Provide constructive feedback, support individual learning plans, and implement timely interventions.
- Liaise with employers, workplace mentors, and curriculum staff to align on training plans and on-the-job learning.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and awarding organisation requirements, including health and safety.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and support recruitment and on boarding of new apprentices as required
. Qualifications:
- Recognised assessor qualification such as TAQA, A1.
- Plumbing qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Current industry knowledge of domestic and commercial plumbing systems, regulations, and standards.
- Level 3 trade qualification in Plumbing as a minimum.
Experience Requirements:
- Proven experience assessing plumbing apprentices or work-based learners in further education or work-based learning.
- Strong track record supporting learners to timely achievement and successful End-Point Assessment.
- Experience using e-portfolio and tracking systems with sound understanding of quality assurance.
- Effective stakeholder engagement with employers and workplace supervisors.
- Up-to-date industry experience in installation, maintenance, and fault-finding.
