Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Public Sector Financial Institution in their search for an Interim Senior Legal Counsel to join their Legal Team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced financial services lawyer to work at the intersection of government, financial markets and public policy, supporting a wide range of complex and high-profile legal matters.
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will provide strategic and operational legal advice across a diverse portfolio of work. You will also monitor regulatory developments across the financial services sector, identifying potential impacts and advising on appropriate responses. Alongside this, you will provide legal support across a wider range of matters, including commercial contracts, procurement, disputes, public law and governance issues.
This is a highly varied role requiring strong technical expertise, sound judgement and the ability to deliver pragmatic, outcome-focused advice in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working autonomously while collaborating closely with colleagues across legal, risk and operational functions.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience advising on financial services, financial markets or capital markets matters. Experience within the public sector, government, financial institutions or regulatory environments would be advantageous, although candidates from private practice with relevant expertise are also encouraged to apply.
