We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Health and Social Care Lecturer. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support learners in achieving their academic and career goals within the health and social care sector.

The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of Health and Social Care programs, helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviors required for further study and employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Health and Social Care lessons.
  • Teach and assess learners across a range of qualifications, including BTEC, NCFE, T Level, or Access programs.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to support achievement.
  • Develop learning resources that meet awarding body requirements and industry standards.
  • Support learners through tutorials, pastoral guidance, and academic mentoring.
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and assessment documentation.
  • Participate in curriculum development and quality improvement activities.
  • Contribute to open days, enrolment events, and employer engagement activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion are embedded within teaching practice.


Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry experience within the health and social care sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting learner welfare.

Desirable Requirements

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching within Further Education, Higher Education, or vocational learning environments.
  • Knowledge of BTEC, NCFE, T Level, or Access to HE qualifications.
  • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
