Senior Practitioner - Robertson Street Project

Pay rate: £19.25/hr. + HP
Hours: Full Time
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Practitioner to join a busy 42-bed hostel service supporting individuals with complex needs and histories of homelessness. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing or support professional looking to take the next step into a leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of a fast-paced 42-bed hostel service.
- Lead on move-on pathways, ensuring residents progress into suitable independent accommodation.
- Provide strategic oversight of client progression plans and monitor outcomes across the service.
- Directly line manage support staff, including inductions, supervisions, probation reviews and annual appraisals.
- Manage incidents, health and safety processes, safeguarding concerns and ensure appropriate reporting to senior management and commissioners.
- Lead on referrals into and out of the service, ensuring effective assessment and allocation processes.
- Work closely with senior management and specialist services to maintain a high-performing and psychologically informed environment.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, health services and community organisations.
- Monitor service performance and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Requirements
- Experience managing or coordinating supported housing, hostel, homelessness or complex needs services.
- Strong understanding of move-on pathways, tenancy sustainment and homelessness prevention.
- Previous experience directly managing staff and supporting performance development.
- Ability to manage complex casework involving mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour and multiple disadvantage.
- Excellent organisational, communication and partnership-building skills.
- Experience overseeing service delivery, compliance, safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
- Ability to lead by example and motivate teams to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
Desirable
- Experience working within hostel environments.
- Knowledge of London homelessness pathways and housing options.
- Experience working with commissioners, local authorities and multi-agency partners.
