Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term (Agency Placement)
Pay Rate: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Further Education College in Manchester for dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Facilitators to join their supportive team from September 2026.
This is an exciting full-time, long-term opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact by supporting young people and adults with additional learning needs to thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
As a Learning Facilitator, you will work alongside teaching staff to provide tailored support to students across a range of vocational and academic courses. You will play a key role in helping learners build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their individual goals.
You will support students with a variety of additional needs, including:
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Physical disabilities and sensory impairments
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support within the classroom and across the college
Assisting tutors with lesson delivery and adapting learning resources where required
Delivering personalised learning support tailored to individual student needs
Encouraging student engagement, confidence, and independence
Supporting positive behaviour using proactive and inclusive strategies
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals
Promoting students' health, wellbeing, and personal development
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to student progress reviews where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Previous experience supporting young people or adults with additional needs in an education, care, or support setting
A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults
A relevant qualification (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable but not essential
