About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Associate Lecturer in GCSE English to join our teaching team in Chichester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about helping learners achieve success in GCSE English Language and Literature.
As an Associate Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that motivates students, supports individual learning needs, and prepares learners to achieve their full potential in GCSE examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality GCSE English lessons.
- Assess learner progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for GCSE examinations using effective teaching and revision strategies.
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, maintaining accurate learner records.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Participate in quality assurance, standardisation, and curriculum development activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote outstanding teaching and learning.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training) or willingness to work towards one.
- Experience teaching GCSE English in a school, college, or adult education setting.
- Strong knowledge of GCSE English curriculum requirements and examination board specifications.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive education.
Desirable
- Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs.
- Experience using digital learning platforms and virtual learning environments.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
