Debt Recovery Officer

Are you a Debt Recovery Officer looking for work in South West England or remotely from home?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in South West England, is looking to recruit a Debt Recovery Officer to manage a caseload of unpaid Adult Social Care invoices, carrying out early-stage recovery through reminders and sensitive contact with customers.

This assignment offers full-time remote working and is a permanent position.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

• Demonstrate proven experience in recovering outstanding debts, including proactive contact with service users or their representatives via phone and written correspondence, ideally within a local authority or social care setting.
• Engage clearly, professionally, and sensitively with vulnerable individuals, carers, and representatives.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel. Experience with financial or case management systems such as Unit4 ERP (Agresso) is advantageous.
• Balance effective debt recovery with empathy and understanding, ensuring a fair, respectful, and person-centered approach in line with social care values.
• Manage a varied caseload, prioritize effectively, and work independently to meet deadlines, targets, and statutory timescales.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in financial records, case notes, and written communications.
• Adapt to changing policies, procedures, systems, and the evolving needs of the service and its users.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing knowledge and contributing to team objectives.
