About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and industry-experienced Lecturer in Electrical to join a dynamic and growing department in Northamptonshire.
This is an exciting opportunity for an electrical professional or experienced lecturer to play a key role in developing the next generation of electricians and electrical engineers. You will deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across a range of electrical programmes, supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and progress into successful careers.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and training across electrical programmes to full-time and part-time learners.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons, practical workshops, and demonstrations.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support achievement and progression.
- Act as a course tutor, monitoring learner progress, attendance, and performance.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to learners and promote positive student behaviour.
- Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring programmes remain current and aligned to industry requirements.
- Participate in student recruitment activities, including open days, careers events, and employer engagement initiatives.
- Support internal verification, quality assurance, and inspection readiness activities.
- Maintain workshops, equipment, and learning resources to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
- Promote and adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity, and inclusion policies.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and stakeholders to enhance the learner experience.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Essential
- Industry experience within Electrical Installation or a related electrical discipline.
- Relevant Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Strong practical and technical knowledge of electrical systems and installation practices.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A passion for developing learners and helping them achieve their potential.
Desirable
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
- Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurer qualifications.
- Experience teaching within Further Education, Apprenticeships, or Adult Learning environments.
- Knowledge of City & Guilds and EAL qualifications.
