Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a passionate and dedicated Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist land-based college in Middlesbrough on an ongoing temporary basis from August 2026.

This rewarding opportunity involves supporting students aged 16+ with a range of additional learning needs, helping them to access education and develop their independence within a unique land-based learning environment. Students are enrolled on vocational courses including Animal Care, Horticulture, Countryside Management, Agriculture and other land-based programmes.

Working as part of a supportive and experienced team, you will provide tailored support to learners both in the classroom and during practical sessions, enabling them to succeed academically, socially and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs.
• Support learners with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
• Assist students during practical and outdoor land-based activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Support with personal care where required.
• Adapt communication methods and learning strategies to meet individual needs.
• Liaise with teaching staff and support teams to ensure students receive appropriate support.
• Monitor and record student progress, attendance and wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Experience working within an education, care or support setting.
• A patient, compassionate and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence supporting learners in practical and outdoor environments.
• Relevant qualifications in Education, Health & Social Care or SEND (desirable).
