Hospitality & Catering Assessor

Morgan Hunt is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Further Education College for an experienced Hospitality & Catering Assessor.

This is an exciting opportunity to support apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to successfully complete their apprenticeship and achieve their End Point Assessment.

The Role

As a Hospitality & Catering Assessor, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of Hospitality & Catering apprentices across the West Midlands.
  • Deliver engaging training and assessment through a blend of workplace visits, face-to-face sessions and online learning.
  • Coach apprentices working towards standards such as Commis Chef, Production Chef and Chef de Partie.
  • Carry out initial assessments and develop personalised learning plans.
  • Support apprentices in preparing for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback to apprentices and employers.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure compliance with awarding body and quality assurance requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with employers to support successful apprenticeship outcomes.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Hospitality & Catering or significant industry experience.
  • Experience working within the Hospitality & Catering industry.
  • An Assessor qualification such as TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33, or be willing to work towards one.
  • A recognised teaching or training qualification (AET, PTLLS or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and End Point Assessment processes is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the West Midlands.
