We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Speech & Language Inclusion Specialist to join a welcoming and inclusive Further Education college in the Peterborough area this September.

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive team where you'll play a key role in creating an inclusive learning environment and helping learners develop the communication skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

The Opportunity

As a Speech & Language Inclusion Specialist, you'll work closely with learners who have a range of speech, language, communication, and interaction needs, supporting them to access education, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals.

Working alongside teaching staff, learning support teams, parents, carers, and external professionals, you'll use your specialist knowledge to develop effective communication strategies and interventions that empower learners and promote independence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assessing learners' speech, language, and communication needs
  • Developing and delivering personalised communication strategies and interventions
  • Supporting learners with speech, language, social communication, and interaction skills
  • Providing advice and practical strategies to teaching staff and support teams
  • Working collaboratively with EHCP coordinators and multidisciplinary professionals
  • Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate records
  • Contributing to learner reviews and EHCP outcomes where appropriate
  • Supporting inclusive teaching practices and removing barriers to communication
  • Helping learners build confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills

What We're Looking For

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or a relevant equivalent qualification
  • HCPC registration or relevant professional experience within speech, language, and communication support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and learner-centred approach
  • Experience supporting young people with SEND is desirable
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A genuine passion for helping learners achieve their full potential
