
Payroll Officer (Temporary) - Corporate Services
Payroll Officer will join a leading College in East London on a full-time site only temp role. The role involves managing payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of pay, maintaining employee records, and supporting staff with payroll and pension queries while ensuring full compliance with statutory, contractual, and pension requirements.
What you will be doing
- Manage payroll and pension queries received through the shared payroll inbox, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
- Work independently, using your own initiative to manage workloads and prioritise tasks effectively.
- Process payroll accurately and in line with payroll deadlines and statutory requirements.
- Support payroll reporting and ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
- Liaise with internal departments, employees, and pension providers to resolve payroll and pension queries.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure confidentiality of employee information.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations, payroll checks, and year-end activities as required.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation, pension regulations, GDPR, and organisational payroll procedures.
- Previous experience working in a payroll environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have experience working within a Further Education setting
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, including statutory and contractual requirements
- Experience handling payroll queries and providing accurate advice to staff and managers
- Knowledge of pensions administration and payroll systems
- Must have Itrent experience
