We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Specialist SEND Lecturer to join a welcoming and supportive Further Education college in the Cambridge area this September.

The Opportunity
As a Specialist SEND Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging, inclusive and learner centred lessons to students with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, learning difficulties, SEMH needs and other SEND requirements.
You'll create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel valued, motivated and empowered to succeed. Working closely with support staff, therapists and wider college teams, you'll play a key role in helping learners achieve both their academic and personal goals.
What You'll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learner needs
- Creating a fun, supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting learners to develop confidence, independence, communication and life skills
- Monitoring learner progress and celebrating achievements along the way
- Working towards EHCP outcomes and individual learning goals
- Using creative teaching approaches to keep learners motivated and engaged
- Collaborating with Learning Support Assistants, therapists and curriculum teams
- Supporting learners with preparation for adulthood, employability and future progression opportunities
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive college culture
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching learners with SEND, learning difficulties and disabilities
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent
- Passion for inclusive education and learner success
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit a range of learning styles and needs
- A positive, patient and proactive approach
- Experience within Further Education or Supported Learning settings is highly desirable
