Mechanical Craftsperson - West Suffolk

Morgan Hunt currently requires a Mechanical Craftsperson for NHS based in Suffolk

Pay Rate: £18ph to 20ph Ltd

Hours: 37.5 hrs 8am to 4pm - Mon to Fri - Plus out of hours on call duties

Location: Suffolk

Duration 12 months on going contract.

Main purpose of the job

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• To perform work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine
• To be responsible for maintenance repairs, calibration and fault finding on a wide range of mechanical engineering plant and equipment such as but not limited to Low Pressure Hot Water Systems, Steam Raising Plant and associated equipment, Cold Water Systems, Plumbing Systems, Steam Sterilizers, Medical Gas Pipe Systems and Washer Disinfectors.
• To undertake new installations and improvements across the Trust as directed by management ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures
• Undertake fault finding on complex Medical Gas Systems, Low Pressure Water Systems, HVAC, Decontamination Equipment, Steam Generating Plant, critical systems and equipment. Using detailed examination to gain a solution.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections and commissioning tests in accordance with Trust procedures.
• Undertake on-call duties as part of the on-call team to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal hours are attended to, including basic requirements of other trades.

Education & Qualifications

• Recognised Trade Apprenticeship in mechanical discipline
• City & Guilds Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent or City & Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing Services or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience of working in an engineering and/or building maintenance role
• Evidence of a maintenance background with skills to carry out minor mechanical/electrical/building repairs
• To be able to participate on the Estates Emergency On-Call rota if required to do so and therefore must be able to work outside of normal working hours including weekends, evenings and nights when on-call.
