We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Assistant to join our team in Harrow. This is an excellent opportunity to support individuals in maintaining stable accommodation, developing independent living skills, and improving their overall wellbeing.
As a Housing Support Assistant, you will work closely with service users to provide practical and emotional support, helping them sustain their tenancies and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred housing-related support to individuals with a range of needs.
- Assist service users in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and managing household responsibilities.
- Support clients to access healthcare, benefits, employment, education, and other community services.
- Help individuals maintain their accommodation and comply with tenancy agreements.
- Maintain accurate records, support plans, and case notes.
- Work collaboratively with housing providers, local authorities, and partner agencies.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
- Respond appropriately to welfare concerns and follow organisational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in housing support, homelessness services, social care, or a similar support role is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A caring, empathetic, and professional approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
