Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Physics lessons across a range of programmes and qualification levels.
• Develop practical laboratory activities that promote scientific enquiry and critical thinking.
• Assess student work, provide timely and constructive feedback, and monitor learner progress.
• Support students through academic tutoring and pastoral guidance where appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, and achievement.
• Contribute to curriculum planning, quality improvement, and departmental initiatives.
• Participate in open days, enrolment events, and other college activities.
• Ensure safe working practices are followed in laboratories and practical teaching environments.

Essential Requirements

• A degree in Physics or a closely related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one, where applicable).
• Experience teaching Physics in further education, higher education, or a relevant educational setting.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• A postgraduate qualification in Physics or a related subject.
• Experience delivering practical laboratory sessions.
• Knowledge of current Physics curricula and assessment requirements.
• Experience using virtual learning environments and digital teaching technologies.
• Experience contributing to curriculum development and quality enhancement.
