Learning Support Specialist (Personal Care & Complex Needs)

We're working with a fantastic education provider in East London that is searching for a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Learning Support Specialist to support learners with complex needs. This is far more than a support role - you'll be a key part of helping young people build confidence, develop independence, and access meaningful education in a safe and inclusive environment.

What You'll Be Doing
You'll work closely with learners who have a range of physical, medical, learning, and communication needs, providing tailored support that enables them to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting learners on a one-to-one and small-group basis throughout the college day
- Providing personal care with dignity, respect, and sensitivity
- Supporting learners with mobility needs, including the use of hoists, wheelchairs, standing aids, and other specialist equipment
- Administering medication and following individual healthcare plans
- Carrying out PEG feeding safely and confidently where required
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and active participation in learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to learner reviews and support plans
- Promoting a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with individuals who have hands-on experience supporting children, young people, or adults with SEND and complex needs.
To be successful, you'll have experience with:
- Personal care support
- Medication administration
- PEG feeding
- Manual handling and moving & handling equipment
- Supporting individuals with complex physical or medical needs
You'll also be someone who is patient, proactive, caring, and passionate about helping others achieve their goals.

Important Information
Due to the specialist nature of this position, applicants must have previous experience in personal care, medication administration, PEG feeding, and manual handling.
An Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references will be required for the successful candidate.
