Maintenance Officer

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Officer to join a public sector organisation on an ongoing temporary contract.

The role will involve overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of a range of public buildings, including schools, leisure facilities and family centres.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee reactive and planned maintenance works across public buildings
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors and contractors
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard
• Monitor health & safety and statutory compliance
• Maintain accurate records, paperwork and maintenance documentation
• Liaise with contractors, building users and internal teams
• Respond to and coordinate reactive maintenance issues

About You

The ideal candidate will have experience within building maintenance, property services or facilities management, with a good understanding of contractor management, compliance and health & safety.

A mechanical and/or electrical background would be advantageous, although candidates with strong general maintenance experience will also be considered.
