Case Worker

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Caseworker to support women experiencing substance misuse alongside multiple and complex needs. The role will provide trauma-informed, holistic support to help women improve their wellbeing, stability and independence.

Job Details

• Job Title: Caseworker - Substance Misuse
• Location: Birmingham
• Contract: Temp to perm
• Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of women experiencing substance misuse and complex needs.
• Provide holistic, trauma-informed one-to-one support and develop individual support plans.
• Complete assessments, monitor progress and work towards positive outcomes.
• Support women with housing, benefits, healthcare, drug treatment, employment and other practical needs.
• Attend MARAC, safeguarding meetings, court appointments and other multi-agency meetings.
• Maintain accurate case records, referrals, interventions and outcome data.
• Build effective partnerships with substance misuse, prescribing and rehabilitation services.
• Provide support around self-harm, suicidal ideation, safety planning and other vulnerabilities.
• Signpost and refer women to appropriate specialist services.

Experience Required

• Experience working with vulnerable women and people with multiple or complex needs.
• Experience providing trauma-informed support and casework.
• Experience managing a caseload, ideally around 15-30 clients.
• Knowledge of substance misuse, domestic abuse, offending, safeguarding and the criminal justice system.
• Strong communication, listening, organisational and IT skills.
• Experience working with multi-agency partners.
• A compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental approach.
