GCSE Maths Lecturer

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a GCSE Maths Resit Lecturer to join an established Further Education college on a full-time, ongoing basis.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality GCSE Maths resit teaching to FE learners, helping students develop their mathematical skills and supporting them towards achieving their GCSE qualification.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective GCSE Maths resit lessons to FE students.
• Plan and prepare lessons in line with the GCSE Maths curriculum and awarding-body requirements.
• Support learners of varying abilities, including students who may have previously struggled to achieve their GCSE Maths qualification.
• Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback and targeted support.
• Prepare students effectively for GCSE examinations.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment and learner progress.
• Contribute to an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and curriculum teams to support learner achievement.
• Follow college policies and safeguarding procedures.

Requirements

• Experience teaching GCSE Maths, ideally within an FE college or similar setting.
• Strong subject knowledge across the GCSE Maths curriculum.
• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent is desirable.
• A relevant Maths qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Experience supporting learners who are resitting GCSE Maths.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to supporting learners to achieve their qualifications.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
