Accounts Assistant
Morgan Hunt is supporting a housing association with the appointment of a temporary Finance Assistant to assist with a range of finance administration, income processing and reconciliation activity.
Working as part of the finance team, the successful candidate will help maintain accurate financial information and support the delivery of the organisation's day-to-day finance service.
Key responsibilities
- Processing and allocating income received
- Assisting with rent, debtor and customer account transactions
- Completing bank, control account and balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigating outstanding and unreconciled items
- Processing journals and making account adjustments
- Supporting purchase and sales ledger activity
- Assisting with month-end tasks and the preparation of finance reports
- Responding to queries from colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
- Providing general support across the finance function as required
Candidate requirements
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar position
- Practical experience of reconciliations and financial transaction processing
- Strong numerical and administrative skills
- Comfortable investigating discrepancies and resolving queries
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Able to work accurately with limited supervision
- Housing association or property-related finance experience would be beneficial
- Available to begin a temporary assignment at short notice
