
Financial Accountant
The Role
Financial Accountant will join a busy Financial Accounts Team, supporting the preparation and delivery of the organisation's financial reporting and year-end accounts.
This is a great opportunity for a technically strong finance professional to gain exposure to statutory reporting, external audit and technical accounting, while supporting the team through key financial reporting activities.
You will work closely with the Financial Accounts Team Leader and a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial reporting is accurate, compliant and delivered to agreed deadlines.
What You Will Be Doing
- Support the preparation and delivery of annual financial statements, including supporting schedules, reconciliations and related reporting activities.
- Coordinate and support the external audit process, managing information requests and ensuring queries are followed up and resolved within agreed timescales.
- Provide technical accounting support, including assisting with changes to accounting requirements and reviewing the appropriate treatment of financial transactions.
- Support the financial control environment, including balance sheet reconciliations, year-end journals and resolving accounting issues.
- Work collaboratively with Finance teams, auditors and wider stakeholders to support effective financial reporting and continuous improvement.
Skills & Experience
- Experience within financial accounting and financial reporting, ideally with exposure to year-end accounts and audit.
- A good understanding of accounting standards and financial controls, with knowledge of FRS 102 desirable.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
