Job Title: FE Uniformed Public Services Lecturer

Location: Yorkshire

Contract: Ongoing

Hours: 35 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Uniformed Public Services Lecturer to join an outstanding further education college in Yorkshire on an ongoing basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Public Services professional to deliver high-quality teaching and help students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence required to progress into careers across the police, armed forces, emergency services and wider public sector.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality Uniformed Public Services teaching.
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with the curriculum and qualification requirements.
  • Deliver both theoretical and practical elements of Public Services programmes.
  • Support students to develop their knowledge of areas such as leadership, teamwork, fitness, public service operations and emergency response.
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor learner progress, attendance and achievement.
  • Provide appropriate support and guidance to help students achieve their qualifications.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, development and quality improvement.
  • Maintain accurate student and assessment records.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide an outstanding student experience.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience teaching Uniformed Public Services within FE or a similar educational setting.
  • Strong professional knowledge of the Uniformed Public Services sector.
  • Relevant industry experience within the police, armed forces, emergency services or another uniformed/public service environment would be advantageous.
  • A relevant Public Services qualification.
  • A recognised teaching qualification would be highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passionate about supporting young people and helping learners progress into employment, further study or higher education.
