Morgan Hunt is working with a welcoming and inclusive Further Education college in East London that is looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join its team from September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference by helping learners develop their communication skills, confidence and independence.
The Role
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will assess and support students with a range of speech, language, communication and swallowing needs.
You will work closely with lecturers, Learning Support teams, families and other professionals to create and deliver individualised therapy plans that support each learner's educational and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess students' speech, language and communication needs.
- Create and deliver personalised therapy and intervention plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions.
- Support learners with communication, interaction and swallowing difficulties.
- Monitor progress and adapt support plans when required.
- Provide specialist advice and strategies to teaching and Learning Support teams.
- Work collaboratively with families and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding and confidentiality procedures.
- Promote inclusive communication practices throughout the college.
What We're Looking For
- A recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience supporting young people with speech, language and communication needs.
- Experience working with SEND learners would be highly desirable.
- Previous experience within Further Education or a similar educational setting.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- A compassionate, patient and learner-focused approach.
- An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Morgan Hunt.
