
Plumber
Morgan Hunt are currently looking an experienced and reliable Plumber to join our social housing maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out plumbing repairs, maintenance and installation works across occupied and void properties, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with health and safety requirements.
This is a customer-facing role, so you will need to have good communication skills, a professional manner and the ability to work respectfully in residents' homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day plumbing repairs and maintenance within social housing properties.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing faults, leaks, blockages and other issues.
- Repair and replace taps, toilets, sinks, baths, valves, pipes and associated plumbing components.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance works.
- Complete works in occupied and vacant properties.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
- Identify additional repairs and report any issues requiring further attention.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works using relevant systems or paperwork.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and maintain a professional approach at all times.
- Work in accordance with company policies, health and safety procedures and relevant legislation.
- Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles to an appropriate standard.
- Work independently while also supporting the wider maintenance team when required.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing or equivalent qualification - essential.
- Previous experience working as a plumber.
- Experience in domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Ideally, experience working within social housing, local authority, housing association or property maintenance environments.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
- Willingness to work in occupied properties and interact professionally with residents.
Desirable
- Experience working within social housing.
- City & Guilds Level 2 Plumbing or equivalent.
- Experience with responsive repairs and void properties.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- Water Regulations / Water Byelaws awareness.
- Unvented Hot Water qualification.
- Gas-related qualifications where relevant to the role.
- Experience using mobile working or job management systems.
