Location: Millmead, Surrey (covering the Guildford area)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £400 per day
Job Summary
A Damp and Mould Surveyor is required to inspect residential properties in the Guildford area. The successful candidate will diagnose moisture defects, identify the root causes of mould growth, and specify remedial repair works. The role involves conducting detailed visual and instrumental surveys of various property areas and ensuring strict compliance with current housing standards.
Key Responsibilities for the Damp and Mould Surveyor:
- Property Inspections: Conduct visual and instrumental surveys of interior rooms, roof spaces, sub-floors, and exterior walls to locate moisture.
- Moisture Diagnostics: Utilise specialised tools to measure humidity and damp levels.
- Defect Identification: Differentiate between condensation, rising damp, and penetrating damp while assessing ventilation and insulation performance.
- Project Oversight: Specify corrective works, raise purchase orders, and oversee contractors.
- Reporting: Provide clear, evidence-based reports for repairs and root-cause analysis.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all properties comply with housing standards and legal frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A degree within surveying, RICS qualification, or equivalent.
- Experience: Proven experience in diagnosing, inspecting, and addressing residential damp and mould issues.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with housing health and safety regulations and property inspections.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
