We are currently recruiting Outreach Workers to support people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping across London, helping them engage with community drug and alcohol treatment services.


🏠 About the role

This is a fully remote and community-based position with no fixed office base.

You will complete your administration and paperwork from home, while the majority of your working day will be spent meeting clients face to face across London and attending multi-agency meetings.

You will provide psychosocial and time-limited support to people experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping, helping them overcome barriers and engage with drug and alcohol treatment.


🀝 What you'll be doing

  • 🀝 Build relationships with people who may be difficult to engage
  • πŸ’Š Support clients to access and engage with drug & alcohol treatment services
  • 🧠 Use motivational interviewing, trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches
  • πŸ“‹ Manage a caseload and complete assessments, support plans and reviews
  • 🚨 Complete risk assessments and identify safeguarding concerns
  • πŸš‡ Meet clients face to face across all 33 London boroughs
  • 🀝 Attend multi-agency meetings and work closely with partner organisations
  • 🏠 Work alongside hostels, homelessness services, outreach teams and community drug & alcohol services
  • πŸ’¬ Provide brief interventions and harm-reduction support
  • πŸ“ Complete accurate case notes and administration from home
  • πŸ‘₯ Work closely with colleagues and partner agencies to coordinate effective support

We'd love to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • πŸ’Š Substance misuse / drug & alcohol services
  • 🏠 Homelessness or rough sleeping
  • πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Outreach or community-based support
  • πŸ“‹ Caseload management
  • 🧠 Motivational interviewing
  • ❀️ Trauma-informed support
  • 🚨 Safeguarding and risk management
  • 🀝 Multi-agency working

Experience supporting people with opiates, alcohol dependency, relapse, harm reduction or treatment pathways would be particularly useful.

You'll need to be comfortable working remotely, managing your own diary, travelling independently across London and engaging with people who may have complex needs.
