Occupational Therapy Lecturer (Higher Education)

Occupational Therapy Lecturer Required

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Lecturer to support a Higher Education institution in Birmingham on an ad hoc basis for an immediate start.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned academic who can quickly integrate into an established teaching team and deliver high-quality learning experiences with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Occupational Therapy teaching across undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes.
• Prepare and deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical sessions.
• Support student learning and academic progression.
• Contribute to assessment, marking and moderation activities.
• Participate in curriculum delivery and academic quality processes as required.
• Work collaboratively with programme teams and clinical practice partners.

Essential Requirements

• Significant experience teaching Occupational Therapy within Higher Education.
• Proven ability to deliver teaching independently and effectively from day one.
• Experience designing, assessing and marking academic work.
• Strong understanding of contemporary Occupational Therapy practice and professional standards.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

• MSc or Doctorate in a relevant subject area.
• Fellowship of Advance HE (or working towards).
• Experience across multiple areas of Occupational Therapy practice.
• Previous involvement in programme leadership, module leadership or curriculum development.

The Opportunity

This role requires an experienced academic who can hit the ground running, providing immediate support to programme delivery during a busy academic period. The successful candidate will be confident managing teaching commitments with minimal onboarding and will bring recent Higher Education experience within Occupational Therapy.
