Finance Business Partner (Interim)

The Role

Finance Business Partner opportunity within a local authority's Children's Services team.

Finance Business Partner will work within a complex organisation, supporting large-scale budgets, influencing strategic decisions and helping shape services that have a lasting impact on children, young people and families.

Finance Business Partner will bring strong finance business partnering expertise, a passion for public service and the ability to balance financial sustainability with positive service outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing

• Leading and supporting finance teams within a complex organisation.
• Overseeing large-scale and complex budgets, ensuring effective financial management and accountability.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders to influence strategic decisions and support long-term financial planning.
• Providing financial insight and analysis to support informed decision-making.
• Balancing financial discipline with service delivery priorities and outcomes.
• Supporting the financial governance of services across Children's Services.

What We're Looking For

• Full CCAB or equivalent qualification (essential).
• Significant experience leading finance teams within a complex organisation.
• Strong finance business partnering experience, particularly with large and complex budgets.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Excellent commercial awareness, analytical skills and financial acumen.
• Ideally, experience within children's social care, SEND or education funding.
• Familiarity with the governance of the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) would be advantageous.

Working Arrangements

Hybrid working is available, with office attendance in Bristol typically at least one day per month, although this may increase to one day per week depending on business needs.
