🌟 About the Role

We are currently recruiting an experienced Recovery Worker to join a busy community-based drug and alcohol service in Southend-on-Sea on an initial 3-month agency contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and compassionate professional with experience supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse. You will play a key role in delivering front line support, completing assessments and helping service users work towards their recovery goals.

Working within a fast-paced community setting, you will manage your own caseload, contribute to the duty rota and ensure individuals receive appropriate, timely and person-centred support.

  • πŸ“‹ Manage a caseload of service users experiencing drug and alcohol-related challenges.
  • πŸ“ Complete assessments to identify individual needs, risks and appropriate support options.
  • ☎️ Contribute to the duty rota, responding to service users requiring advice and support.
  • 🀝 Build positive, professional relationships with service users, providing person-centred support throughout their recovery journey.
  • πŸ₯ Identify support needs and facilitate appropriate referrals to relevant health, housing and specialist services.
  • πŸ’» Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, assessments and service user records.
  • πŸ‘₯ Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
  • ❀️ Promote recovery, harm reduction and positive outcomes for individuals accessing the service.

βœ… Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience working within a busy community drug and alcohol service.
  • Experience managing a caseload and completing assessments.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a duty rota.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, non-judgemental and person-centred approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
  • Availability to work on-site in Southend five days per week.
