• Pay: Up to £35 per hour (Negotiable)
• Contract Type: Temporary
• Location: RG1 4HJ

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Early Years Lecturer to deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and support learners studying Early Years and Childcare qualifications. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of early childhood development and the childcare sector, helping learners develop the knowledge, practical skills and professional understanding required to progress into careers within early years education and childcare.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across Early Years and Childcare programmes and qualifications.
• Prepare schemes of learning, lesson plans and teaching resources in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Deliver high-quality teaching that develops learners' understanding of child development, early years practice and childcare principles.
• Teach relevant topics, including safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and supporting children's learning and development.
• Assess learner progress, mark assignments and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
• Monitor attendance, progress and performance, maintaining accurate learner records.
• Support learners with their personal development and progression into further study or employment within the early years sector.
• Create an inclusive, supportive and engaging learning environment that meets the needs of learners with different abilities and backgrounds.
• Ensure teaching, assessment and record-keeping comply with relevant quality standards, safeguarding requirements and college policies.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience teaching or lecturing in Early Years, Childcare or a related subject.
• Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of current early years education and childcare practices.
• The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements.
• Experience assessing learner work, monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Knowledge of child development, safeguarding and the principles of effective early years practice.
• Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
• A commitment to learner achievement, development and progression.
• A relevant Early Years or Childcare qualification and an appropriate teaching qualification, where required.
• An understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion within an educational setting.
