Communication Support Worker

Morgan Hunt are recruiting for a Communication Support Worker on behalf of a large college in West Yorkshire.

You will be facilitating communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in the education setting, using BSL, SSE, note taking and other strategies to ensure equal access of information. You will act as a bridge between hearing and deaf individual by interpreting spoken English into sign language and vice versa, modifying written English to be more accessible, and collaborating with other teaching and support staff.




The role requires a fluency in BSL and therefore requires someone that is at least Level 3 BSL qualified.

You will be supporting the student on a 1:1 basis who attends college on a part time basis, and the hours are yet to be confirmed.




THE ROLE -

Location - West Yorkshire

Pay Rate - £22.50 per hour

Hours - 12 per week

Start Date - September
