National childrens charity seeks a Finance Assistant will be an active member of the Finance team working as part of an organisation which aims to deliver positive outcomes for children, young people and their families. Supporting the Finance team by maintaining the purchase and sales ledgers and ensuring all supplier transactions of the organisation are properly authorised and accurately recorded. Ideally to work between 25-30 hours over 4 days or 5 days a week for a 6 month period.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor the incoming Finance inbox dealing with incoming invoices and queries on a timely basis.

1. Ensure that invoices are processed correctly with authorisation following the correct procedure.

2. Maintain new and current supplier accounts including reconciliation..

3. Create new Supplier accounts and process invoices as directed.

4. Liaise with Customers/Suppliers over payments and queries. Resolve queries or flag as necessary

5. Build strong links with key departments within the organisation and develop key relationships with colleagues across the organisation.

6. Prioritise own workload within agreed objectives using your own initiative

9. Maintain accurate records in line with the organisation policies and procedures

10. In addition to these functions the post holder is expected to: carry out other duties as may be reasonably expected in accordance with the responsibilities/competency level of the post.

Experience required:

  • Experience of working in finance team/office environment
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Use of Microsoft packages and proficient in the use of excel.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively to meet monthly deadlines
  • Be well organised and able to work accurately with a good attention to detail.
