Job Title: Housing and Welfare Officer
Location: West Midlands (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office on duty)
Contract: 3 months (with potential extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £25 per hour (umbrella, inside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP
I'm seeking a Housing and Welfare Officer to join a local authority based in the West Midlands.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Public Sector and Government by by supporting residents with their housing and welfare needs in a fast-paced frontline environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to residents on housing and welfare issues.
- Manage a varied caseload, ensuring compliance with relevant housing and welfare legislation.
- Work with vulnerable individuals and families to resolve housing-related issues and improve wellbeing.
- Liaise with internal teams, external partners, and agencies to deliver effective solutions.
- Deliver excellent customer service, ensuring all residents are treated with empathy and respect.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in housing, welfare, or a related frontline service role within the Public Sector and Government.
- Strong knowledge of housing and welfare issues, including relevant legislation and policy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, including vulnerable groups, providing clear advice and support.
- Strong problem-solving skills and resilience in a challenging environment.
- IT proficiency and ability to maintain accurate records.
