
Housing Manager - Edinburgh (Temporary)
We are working exclusively with a respected housing provider to recruit a Housing Manager on a temporary basis in Edinburgh for an initial duration of 6 months with scope to extend. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced housing professional to step into a key leadership role and make an immediate impact.
You'll be leading and motivating a dedicated Housing Services team, driving service improvements, and ensuring tenants receive the highest standard of support. The role will cover the full range of housing management functions - including allocations, tenancy changes, arrears management, voids, and anti-social behaviour cases.
As part of the senior management team, you'll play a vital role in shaping housing services and ensuring compliance with housing law, regulatory requirements, and best practice. You'll also support the delivery of modernised, customer-focused services that strengthen engagement with tenants and communities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Housing Team Leadersand staff.
- Ensure high standards of housing management across tenancy services.
- Manage budgets, procurement, and contracts relating to housing services.
- Drive staff engagement, motivation, and performance.
- Contribute to organisational strategy, values, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the organisation externally at relevant forums and networks.
Criteria for the role:
- Significant experience in Housing Management.
- Strong knowledge of social and affordable housing legislation and regulation in Scotland.
- Proven leadership and people management skills with experience motivating teams.
- Solid track record of delivering excellent customer service in housing.
- Strong project and change management skills.
- Degree-level qualification in Housing or a related discipline (or equivalent).
- Professional membership in a relevant body (or willingness to achieve this).
Details:
- Edinburgh Based (3 days office initially and then office based for meetings only is possible)
- £50-60k Salary
- 35 hours per week (flexi-time/compressed hours etc possible)
- Own car not required.
