Contract: Full-time temporary to Permanent
Salary: £16.50-17 per hour
Do you want to make a real impact on the lives of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness?
We are seeking a committed Homeless Outreach Navigator to join our team, working with young people aged 16-25 who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness. This role offers the opportunity to provide intensive support, helping young people secure accommodation, sustain tenancies, and move forward positively in their lives.
About the Role
As an Homeless Outreach Navigator you will:
Undertake detailed assessments of housing and support needs for young people rough sleeping or at risk.
Support young people to overcome barriers to accommodation and independence, including budgeting, benefits, tenancy management, and relationship building with neighbours and landlords.
Deliver outreach across the city, making proactive contact with young people on the streets and encouraging them into appropriate services.
Work with young people who may have experienced trauma and have complex support needs (e.g. poor mental health, substance misuse, offending).
Provide practical, emotional, and advocacy support to help young people engage with services and sustain their tenancies.
Work collaboratively with local authorities, statutory services, and voluntary organisations to ensure effective wraparound support.
Safeguard young people by following appropriate escalation and reporting procedures.
Contribute to service development, reporting, and performance targets.
About You
Looking for a Homeless Outreach Navigator who has:
Experience of working with young people in settings such as youth work, housing, social care, probation, or education/training.
Strong knowledge of housing rights, welfare reform, and housing legislation (including the Homelessness Reduction Act and Rough Sleeper Strategy).
The ability to build trust and motivate young people with complex needs.
Strong case management, assessment, and advocacy skills.
The ability to manage challenging behaviour and respond effectively to safeguarding concerns.
Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice.
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Advice & Guidance, Health & Social Care, Youth Work, or working towards a relevant qualification.
