About the Role
As a Case Worker, you'll be on the front-line of homelessness prevention and the local response to rough sleeping. You'll work with people who are rough sleeping or at risk of losing their homes, helping them to access safe accommodation and the support they need to move forward.
You'll carry out assessments, develop personalised action plans, and connect clients with services such as housing, benefits advice, health and well-being support, and training opportunities. What You'll Do
- Provide person-centred advice and support to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness.
- Complete assessments for new referrals and self-presenting clients.
- Support clients with housing applications, benefits, and income maximisation.
- Refer clients to specialist services (e.g. mental health, substance misuse, safeguarding).
- Help clients to develop skills to sustain accommodation and reconnect with communities.
- Build strong partnerships with housing providers, statutory services, and local organisations.
- Record and monitor client progress using case management systems.
- Contribute to service improvement and promote our work to partners and stakeholders.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience working with rough sleepers or people at risk of homelessness.
- Knowledge of homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
- Strong casework skills, including motivational interviewing and solution-focused approaches.
- The ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain professional boundaries.
- Excellent communication, partnership working, and IT skills.
- A commitment to compassion, respect, empowerment, justice, and inclusion.
Why Join Us?
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of vulnerable people. You'll join a supportive team committed to empowering individuals, reducing homelessness, and strengthening community resilience.
