Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00
Location: Community-based across London - with some working from home for admin duties
Pay: £22.98 via umbrella or £15.86+holiday pay = £17.77 per hour
A dynamic and impactful floating support service operating across London is looking for an experienced Floating Support Worker to join their team on an interim basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking, multi-agency initiative aimed at preventing homelessness and supporting vulnerable adults to build independence and sustain their tenancies.
About the Service
This pan-London service provides brief, targeted interventions to individuals aged 25 and over who are at risk of losing their tenancies or have recently moved into new accommodation. With a strong focus on tenancy sustainment, resettlement, and wellbeing, the service is delivered in partnership with a range of specialist agencies to provide holistic, person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver crisis intervention and tailored support to individuals with complex needs across multiple London boroughs.
- Provide tenancy sustainment support, including assistance with ASB-related risks, hoarding, and substance-related tenancy issues.
- Link clients into local services and promoting long-term stability.
- Advocate on behalf of clients with local authorities and partner services where needed.
- Support clients to improve their financial resilience and wellbeing through budgeting support, benefits advocacy, and referral into specialist services.
- Work closely with health professionals, housing teams, and community organisations to deliver wraparound support.
Caseload & Structure
- The team of 3 jointly manage approximately 45 clients per quarter.
- Weekly team meetings; majority of the work is within the community, visiting 2-4 service users per day as needed.
- Support is brief and focused - not long-term case management.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in housing-related support, tenancy sustainment, or community outreach roles.
- Knowledge of homelessness prevention, mental health, and/or substance misuse support.
- Strong communication, organisational, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and work independently in a remote/hybrid setting.
- Understanding of safeguarding and experience working with adults with multiple needs.
