Are you passionate about empowering women to rebuild their lives after experiencing domestic abuse? We're looking for a dedicated Refuge Worker to join our Barnet-based team and provide vital support to women and children in our safe accommodation services.

About the Role

As a Refuge Worker, you will provide emotional and practical support to women who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them regain safety, stability, and independence. You'll manage your own caseload across two sites, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the refuge and a high-quality, trauma-informed service.

Your work will involve:

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, proactive, and committed to empowering survivors. You'll bring:

  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals, ideally survivors of domestic or sexual abuse.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and risk management.
  • Knowledge of housing, welfare benefits, and support planning.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and anti-discriminatory practice.

Why Join Us

You'll be part of a passionate and supportive team making a real difference in the lives of women and children affected by domestic abuse. We offer:
