
Senior Delivery Manager
Morgan Hunt are working with a large public sector client to recruit a Senior Delivery Manager on a contract basis until the end of March 2026. This role is responsible for leading the delivery of complex, high-risk digital projects involving multiple scrum teams, using agile, waterfall, or hybrid methodologies. The individual will provide strong leadership, ensure effective project governance, and drive continuous improvement in delivery practices. The role will involve working on a project responsible for discovery and developing a new product, so discovery exercise experience would be favoured.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct multi-team project delivery, using appropriate methodologies (agile, waterfall, hybrid).
- Coach, mentor, and line manage delivery managers and team members, supporting career development and performance.
- Act as a point of escalation for risks, issues, and team blockers.
- Enhance team effectiveness and encourage innovation in delivery approaches.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to plan and roadmap projects using data-driven insights.
- Ensure proper governance and documentation (e.g., roadmaps, business cases, sprint reports).
- Manage team resourcing and stakeholder expectations.
- Monitor budgets, ensure spend assurance compliance, and oversee supplier contracts.
Essential Experience:
- Experience delivering complex digital projects or programmes with multiple scrum teams using a range of project delivery approaches including agile, waterfall and hybrid models
- Proven aptitude for leadership and experience in performance management
- Experience in roadmap definition, project planning and managing complex project risks, issues and dependencies
- Comfortable using delivery management tools such as Azure DevOps and MS Project or equivalent
£650 Per Day Inside IR35
Contract until end of March 2026
Hybrid working (London, Glasgow, Cardiff offices)
