About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Service Manager to help lead a dynamic team supporting individuals and families affected by domestic and sexual violence.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) service in Islington, supporting survivors through advocacy, safety planning, and access to holistic support. You will work closely with the Service Manager to ensure high-quality service delivery, effective team performance, and positive outcomes for survivors.

The post-holder will oversee frontline advocacy and duty teams, ensuring services are accessible, trauma-informed, and responsive to the diverse needs of the community. You will also support data collection, reporting, and contract management, helping the service achieve key performance targets.

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality case management and smooth running of duty and referral processes.
  • Ensure that all safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly and in line with organisational policy.
  • Build strong relationships with local partner agencies, including housing, health, and criminal justice services.
  • Monitor service performance, ensuring contract compliance and delivery against KPIs.
  • Support the Service Manager with data collection, reporting, and quality assurance processes.
  • Facilitate team meetings, case reviews, and reflective practice to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion throughout all aspects of service delivery.

About You

You will have:

  • Experience supporting people affected by domestic or sexual abuse.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate staff in a frontline service setting.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, safety planning, and safeguarding (adults and children).
  • Experience of multi-agency partnership working and co-located models.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and crisis management skills.
  • Knowledge of housing, welfare, and policy issues relevant to survivors of abuse.
  • Experience in contract monitoring, reporting, and financial procedures.

What We Offer

  • A supportive and inclusive work environment with a commitment to staff wellbeing.
  • Ongoing professional development and opportunities for progression.
