The Role
We're currently recruiting for an experienced Public Services Lecturer to join the team at a leading FE College in Barking on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator with a strong background in Public Services to deliver engaging lessons and support learners working towards Level 1-Level 3 qualifications.
You'll play a key role in helping students develop the skills, knowledge, and motivation needed for a successful career in the police, fire, armed forces, or other public sector roles.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons across Public Services programmes (Levels 1-3).
- Create engaging and inclusive learning materials to support a range of learner abilities.
- Assess student work, track progress, and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to curriculum development and ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Provide academic and pastoral support to learners, promoting positive outcomes and progression.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement.
Requirements
- Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent).
- Relevant degree or professional experience in Public Services or a related subject.
- Previous teaching experience within Further Education (preferred).
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
