Morgan Hunt are delighted to be partnering with a Public Sector organisation in London who are looking for an IT Category specialist on a contract basis until March 2026.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day IT procurement and commercial activity, delivering a high-performing, flexible, and responsive service.
• Develop and maintain a category management approach, managing the IT procurement pipeline and ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Take accountability for all commercial arrangements, ensuring efficient, assured, and compliant delivery.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to manage and monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Embed effective contract management practices across all procurement's and ensure performance standards are achieved.
• Provide clear, authoritative commercial and procurement advice to internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of commercial capability across the organisation and support wider transformation initiatives.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified (e.g. MCIPS or equivalent).
• Willingness to work towards Government Commercial Organisation accreditation (if not already held).

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience leading IT procurement activity within a public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of government frameworks (e.g. Crown Commercial Service) and ability to advise on optimal routes to market.
• Significant experience across the full commercial lifecycle, from strategy and sourcing through to contract management.
• Skilled in contract drafting, negotiation, and supplier relationship management, with a track record of delivering value for money.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to apply analytical and evidence-based thinking to commercial decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and build trusted relationships at all levels.
• Resilient and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, complex environment.
